WEBMIN module for GRUB 2

Hi,

I have a computer running Ubuntu 10.04. I have installed Webmin on it and everything is working fine except for the GRUB module. I wish to know if there is a new GRUB module that supports GRUB 2? It may be beta or an unofficial one.

Thanks in advance.

I have not seen the new grub2 for Webmin (newest ver 1.510) ..

Unless you have a REAL need for grub 2.. I'd stay away from it... it's still alpha (I think).. or acts like it anyway.

Is it really so dangerous to use an alpha product? Anyway, where did you find it? Can you post a link to it?

Depends.. alpha releases are usually the first ones released and have many hooks broken which makes the software almost unusable.

To me, dangerous is subjective... because for me to spend hours, days, and sometimes weeks.. trying to figure out stuff that 'should work'.. with little or bad documentation, is dangerous for my schedule.

And what do you mean by "where did you find it"?

Find what? Grub 2 is available in repositories for ages now.. as is webmin (but not for debian).. you need to get if from webmin site directly-- as either a deb or tar file.

I mean the webmin module for GRUB 2.
And thanks for your advice on alpha-releases. I'll try it cautiously.

I meant, I did not see a GRUB2 module... ONLY the older Grub (legacy) is available

Sorry for the misconception.

I'm not saying to not try something that is labeled 'alpha'.. its just that, well usually we see first releases as 'beta'.. which is *supposed* to mean that the software is somewhat stable as far as working *enough* to be able to test all of it's main components.

With Grub 2, I have not found the current documentation adequate or accurate enough to be able to do anything constructive with it.

I know certain distros have put together patches to make it work, but none that I dealt with applied to my situation.. so I gave up until it become more mainstream-- and stable.
