webmail on ISPConfig

I have tried several different Webmail client and cannot get any of them to work. The closest I have gotten is with RoundCube but I got

Code:
IMAP connect: NOT OK(Authentication for email@domain.tld failed (LOGIN): "a001 NO Login failed.")
google searched answer but all of the threads I found didn't work for me. I am thinking it might be in linked with the setup of the server. When I put

Code:
telnet localhost 25

ehlo localhost
I get no output. Not sure if is does. This is the first server I setup though I am have an intermediate level of Ubuntu. Need any info just ask.

With Telaen Webmail, SquirrelMail, and UebiMiau Webmail I can not log in. I have sent and e-mail to the email address without having it get kicked back. I assume its sent.

cheers

Most of the webmail stuff out uses IMAP which also goes with the error you have. I would troubleshoot the IMAP error. I'm sure all the webmail apps work if you did the sudo apt-get install <WEBMAIL APP>. The telnet looks fine. You telnet to port 25 is SMTP that is the outgoing box. Your IMAP error is incoming mail issue. Check port 143 if you have SSL or Secure IMAP check 585 or 993. See if you can get your MTA working with a client pine, evolution, thunderbird something. Then start troubleshooting the webmail stuff.

I tried port 143

Code:
telnet 192.168.0.100 143
Trying 192.168.0.100...
Connected to 192.168.0.100.
Escape character is '^]'.
* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UIDPLUS CHILDREN NAMESPACE THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT THREAD=REFERENCES SORT QUOTA IDLE ACL ACL2=UNION STARTTLS] Courier-IMAP ready. Copyright 1998-2005 Double Precision, Inc. See COPYING for distribution information.
^]

telnet> quit
Connection closed.
Looks fine to me as for port 585 doesn't work but 993 does.

ok I got past that error. I was putting in email@domain.tld when I needed username@www.domain.tld . But I have come across another issue. I can't send or receive anything. Perhaps it has to do with the DNS MX Record. I am going to call my ISP to see if they can help.

cheers
