vsftpd - Getting Set up
Hi all,
Just trying getting FTP set up on my ubuntu server as a test.
Got vsftpd installed OK, seems to work with anonamous access.
However, I'm aware of how insecure that is, especially given what I want to be sharing.
How do I go about setting up individual accounts and passwords for FTP?
Less of an issue, but how do I specify the home directory for the users as well? I want to be able to access the home folder and the entirity of a storage drive.
Thanks

I'm not getting very far with this I'm afraid!
Found the official vsftpd guide was easier to follow
However, at Step 1 I get this:
michael@linuxserver:~$ sudo db4_load -T -t hash -f logins.txt /etc/vsftpd_login.db
sudo: db4_load: command not found
michael@linuxserver:~$ db4_load -T -t hash -f logins.txt /etc/vsftpd_login.db
db4_load: command not found
Same result if I try db_load or db3_load
Any bright ideas?

You need to install db4.6-util that provides /usr/bin/db4.6_load

Is possible to take a example configuration file in /var/log/doc/vsftp*/, This example has comments about these configurations.
