vsftpd and FileZilla help

I have been messing around with this for the past week or so with no success. I have an ubuntu linux server with vsftpd installed on it. I though I understood what all the settings meant in the configuration file but I guess I don't. All I want it to do is deny all anonymous connections and to be able to access the ftp server from outside the network via windows and FileZilla but I cannot seem to get it to work. What should be in my config file and how should I set up filezilla?
