Using pam_mount to mount Homefolder on Nas
Hi all,

We are trying to get our users a home folder on our Nas server.

Our situation:

A linux client logs on to our Windows 2008 server (this works!). Then we need the user on the linux client to mount their homedirectory on our Nas server! Our Nas is also configured correctly to authenticate with our Active Directory.

So do we now need to use pam_mount and if so how? We've googled for a proper solution but couldn't find one.

Sincerely yours,

Take a look at autofs, it's good for home dirs .. there are a few tutorials available, just search for "autofs samba"

Yes they make work for normal shares, but what about homefolders? Windows needs to create them on the NAS, and then the Linux cl´ent needs a script to auto mount them on logon.

From memory, the Windows server will automatically create a home directory when you define the path to it. Use autofs on the linux host to mount them on demand
