Using OpenDKIM

I am using OpenDKIM on my Centos 7 VM in AWS. After following this guide, I send an email, and when I check to see if it's been signed, it is not.

Please understand: we have no information about the client you’re using. Please be specific.
Where did you send the email to? Where from?

I sent it to my mail server. When you say "client", you mean how do I check my mail? I just check /var/spool/mail.
