Ubuntu Server - Remote Desktop Connection & Shared Folders
I have a AD domain configured with a Window 2008 Server with roles that include File Server, DNS, DHCP, & a Print Server.

I'm in the process of building a media server using Ubuntu Server v11.04. To make life easier, I installed Ubuntu Desktop GUI and I joined the media server as a member of the AD domain with the hope of remotely connecting the Ubuntu Server via Remote Desktop.

What settings are available and how do I configure for remote access?

Also, from the Ubuntu server, I'd like to access the Windows shared folders. How do I find the Shared folders?

Third, how do I share folders within the media server to other devices?

From Windows to Ubuntu access you can use VNC or freenx tool for graphics access.

From Ubuntu to windows , you can use rdesktop or inbuild remote desktop client tool to access.

You can share the folder in windows & mount that folder in linux through mount command

mount -t cifs destination mount_point
