Cool ubunto server 9.10


hi linux group,
this is sanjeevi am new user to linux world i just want to install and configure ubunto 9.10 server edition, the purpose of installing this is i want maintain my own web sever, i purchased and registered the domain& i don have static ip am using dynamic ip i just want to host my website in my own server can any one guide me from the scratch to install and configure and to host my site..

Wow that's interesting hobby you have there. Well, since you said you are new to gnu/linux chances are you'd be facing configuration challenges, it really pays a lot to have a pdf (or hard copy) basic tutorial in linux, download it here, and as you ask more questions you can consult this pdf book using "Ctl+F" enter search word then <Enter> you'll have quicker answers there than posting questions here and wait.

For your web server tutorials you can glean the basics here, here and here.

Try some of the excellent tutorials on youtube for ubuntu server install it will walk you through it all and you can see it on screen as you set it all up. Thats how I setup my home server and its dead easy have a look at my setup here banditman.homelinux.com

You will probably need to setup an account at dyndns or no-ip.com to setup a dynamic ip address for your computer.
