Two rpms with same name and version

Hi guys,

I have been seeing this for a while; but decided to decipher it now. That is, most of the times when I look for an installed rpm I get 2 rpms with the same name and version. For example, if I lookf or subversion using

Code:
rpm -q subversion
I get the following:

Code:
subversion-1.6.11-7.el5_6.3
subversion-1.6.11-7.el5_6.3
Why is this? How come there are 2 rpms with the same name and version? This is particularly difficult in situations where I want to get information about an installed package.

Thanks

£lots says that one is i386, one is x86_64. the default output there doesn't think it's worth telling you. annoying. if you look at the --queryformat option you can putin a different format which will print it, or just add ".x86_64" or whatever to the package name printed when you query it

Thanks Chris,

I just figured that out. It is really annoying. Moreover one file is claimed by two rpms. Though this can be worked around, it is a bit of pain.

Cheers
