Trouble saving to mysql database

Hi all,
Im running a database on suse10.3 using lampp (MySql PHP Apache). All was fine until we had a major power failure and all the servers blacked out. but after recovering the power, the servers were fine and everything looked normal until we realised that the data the guys were inputting was not anywhere in the database. and there is no error at all. the data entry is fine and the entrants are able to submit the data without ant trouble, but when you go back to the database, the data doesn't exist.

Could any one help?

Can you connected using mysql client? Can you see databases, tables? What happens when you do try a couple of queries?
