Trouble mounting Samba share from Windows Mobile 6.1 - samba weirdness
Hi folks,
Hope someone can help me with this, I'm banging my head off a brick wall here. The problem is that I'm trying to map a samba share on my SuSE 11.0 box to my HTC Touch Diamond. As far as I can see, the Touch is connecting ok to the samba server, but for some reason, the server is chopping off the last char of the user name (weirdness!!) and therefore giving out a NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER. Also in the log, I see the username with the last char missing (so test -> tes).
If I try and connect with the last char of the username repeated, then the correct username appears in the log and instead I get an error NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD! WTF?!
I've tried repeating the last char of the password as well, in case that was the issue, but of course, the password is hashed across the network and if I'm losing the last char of that, there's not much I can do! I've checked the packets coming in using wireshark so I'm sure the Touch is sending out the correct username, so it must be something in Samba that's causing the issue.
Has anyone come across this before? I've enable support for lanman and ntlm auth in the smb.conf just in case it was something to do with that, but so far, no joy.
TIA.
