I installed the tomcat on remote server and its running fine. But the problem is , I am not able to see it from browser on my local system. when I do http://remote-server:8080/ Nothing is coming in my browser.
For cross checking this issue. I login to remote server and did : wget http://localhost:8080/ I got index.html and its saying the server is succefully installed.
Please let me know, whats the possible solution to this problem. Is there any firewall setting that dont allow to see it from browser ???

Did you configure Tomcat to listen on your external IP (WAN IP) or is it only listening on localhost (127.0.0.1) and is the router configured to redirect to the correct server for that port?
Hi EricTRA,
Hi,
I did not done any configuration.
I am running it with default configuration.
as I am new to TomCat, I dont know how to configure Tomcat to listen on your external IP.
please help me to configure the Tomcat to listen to specific set of IP addresses ONLY.
I imagine that your router is not configured to redirect port 8080 from your WAN IP to the TomCat server and that this is the reason why you can access locally but not remotely. Do you have access to your router? If so, configure it to forward all traffic on port 8080 to the IP and same port of your TomCat server.
Hi EricTRA,
Thanks for your time.
I configure the Tomcat Itself to run on port 8983, its fine now
and now I am able to access it from my local machine.
