TightVNC on Slackware64-13.1

I'm attempting to get the tightvnc that's shipped with Slackware64 working. However, when I connect to it with a standard VNC client, the colors are all screwed up. I've tried multiple VNC clients as well as rebuilding from source. I've also tried changing the color depth. No matter whether I use 16 or 24, neither works.

Any ideas?

1. Slackers can give you great community support but over here you will not get noticed easily. Post in their forum and someone will surely help.

2. Anyway, I managed to replicate your colour issue. It appears that it happens only with KDE, but XFCE is fine. If this is accpetable for you:

$ su -
# xwmconfig
Choose the second option: xinitrc.xfce The Cholesterol Free Desktop Evironment

and try tightvnc again

(1) Where should I post where Slackware users can see this? FWIW, this problem also manifests itself on Ubuntu with tightvnc, so I think it's really a tightvnc or KDE issue (I filed a bug with tightvnc's bug tracker as a starting point).

(2) I don't want to use xfce or blackbox or etc.; I want to use KDE. So picking another window manager isn't an acceptable option.

(1) I agree. The Slackware forum is in the Linux - Distributions sub forum: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/
My reply was intended only to help but you may try whatever is goes for you.

(2) I understand.

Did this issue got fixed? I think I might have the same problem. Installed tightvnc for slack64 on my slack64 machine and trying to access from my slack (not 64bit) laptop gives strange colors and deformed graphics (see screenshot). YOu should see a wallpaper and some widgets.
