The meaning of the -0400 and -0500 Apache Log file entry

Can someone tell me what the "-0500]" and "-0400]" signify in the apache log file?

It happens to be in the time field (%t).

For Example:

Code:
127.0.0.1 - frank [10/Oct/2000:13:55:36 -0500] "GET /apache_pb.gif HTTP/1.0" 200 2326 "http://www.example.com/start.html" "Mozilla/4.08 [en] (Win98; I ;Nav)"
Thanks in advance for any enlightenment on this.

Thanks. I had been puzzled over that for a long time. I couldn't find it described anywhere I looked. I might be able to find it defined now.

Since it was in the time field I should have been able to figure it out.

Now I see the 0500's and 0400's are my local time zones. We just switched from 0500 to 0400 yesterday.
