the fedora operating system does not start but linux has been installed perfectly

Hello
I have installed fedora 11 and I have installed on it hosting control panel
and for a week the server was working fine for no reason
I have regulated control panel and I have added other functions
when the hosting control panel was turned off, I have turned off the server
Next day I have turned on a server again and fedora 11 started to go on
but some window where the log in has to be does not appear
instead that window I saw a black screen with the cursor
and around the cursor the revolving thing
I have tried for several times to load it- it does not work
What can it be and how can that be fixed...

thank you

Try booting into text mode and starting X from the console. Do you see any errors? Why are you running X on a server anyway?

what do you mean by X console? There are no errors. I have tried to boot it already it starts what fedora do I want to use eiether fedora 11_86_64 bits and another version of fedora 11 64 bits
so I choose on which one is installed my control panel and the login screen does not appear.
But there are no errors.
what can that be? And how to fix it?

if you do not have much experience with Linux i would suggest you install Ubuntu or Mint

fedora is a testing and research and development distro . It will need fixing often .
If you DO want to fix things ( like now ) then use fedora

but install the CURRENT version -- fedora 12 -- ( fedora 13 will be out in a few days )

that black screen is most likely not having your 3d card configured . What is it ? ATI or Nvidia or a built in chip ?

No errors ??? odd

did you read the logs ?
/var/log/errors.log
/var/log/dmesg.log
/var/log/messages
/var/log/setroubleshoot/setroubleshootd.log

this can be done with the install dvd in rescue mode and using the "nano" text editor

It sounds like this is a serverat a remote hosting facility. How exactly are you accessing the server? Do you have some sort of remote console access like IPMI or a remote console server? Where do you see the black scren, cursor, and "revolving thing"? Can you login to the server via SSH and read the log files that John VV mentioned? We need a few more details about your setup in order to help you out correctly.

The SSH I only able to access via the rescue mode.
After it says fedora 11, the mouse cursor appears with revolving thing.
I am unable to login afterwards, cause it shows as if the login screen is loading, but really its not because the login screen does not appear at all.
If to do it through the rescue mode
what command should I type there in SSH?

just now the error came out on a black screen
init:tty2 main process (2740...) terminated with status 1
init:tty2 main process ended, respawning
"--"...

What can it be?
Does it has to do something with Linux operating system?
I need an administrator.

I haven't had to fix things in a stable Fedora release since probably Fedora 10. Maybe you haven't used Fedora within the last couple of years, but you're completely wrong about the more current Fedora releases, they're just as stable and fit for use as Ubuntu.

I'm not trying to call you out or anything, I just don't want people to get the wrong idea about Fedora. I've been using Fedora 13 since Alpha and I haven't had to fix one thing, it's worked flawlessly.

If you haven't tried Fedora recently, I'd highly recommend it, it's much better than it was just a couple of years ago. Of course I would not recommend using Fedora as a server.

are you talking about " gnome-control-center" or what ?
and explain this also

when the hosting control panel was turned off
fedora and the gui on fedora are VERY dependent on python 2.6 and a bunch of core code
if you made a change to any of that then the fedora gnome gui will not work

and a reinstall might be the only option -- maybe --

I meant the hosting control panel that I am using is plesk 9.5.2
It is only compatible with fedora 11, but with fedora 12 or 13
the plesk is not upgraded yet.

I am not saying anything against fedora at all.

I was just saying about control panel plesk.

Can that be, if I get this error:

init: tty2 main process (2740) terminated with status 1
init: tty2 main process ended, respawning

that the file was by accident erased or corrupted when the technicians was working through shell
fixing their control panel software

so how to fix this error or get back that file
so that I will be able to login back on a server...

thank you
Kira

Its not about me spending money on plesk, the plesk is a good software - cause I had a good experience with it before on another server.

But I have a question though
How can I fix that file by myself or get them back

I have 3 options

1) to go through the shell
then what type commands to type there

2)Is it possible to reinstall the operation system itself without loosing the installed information on a server, if its possible then how?

3)If there are any options, please let me know how to get back erased files

thank you

I don't think anybody is saying that Plesk is either good or bad, just that you paid for it and support, so why not call them directly to get assistance on this issue? As I understand what you have written the problems started after installing or changing something within Plesk, thus is probably related to Plesk.

As for how to recover I think the easiest option (depending on how much data, and what type) would be to drop to a shell, copy everything over, and start from scratch. Of course to do this you will need to know where any data you want to keep is being kept.

Thank You alot for the advices
I have decided to reinstall operating system fedora
and reinstall plesk
but for that not to happen again
I have 2 questions
1)Is it possible for Fedora to crash after a non proper installation of a fedora from the beginning and when the hosting control panel gets installed
is it possible any of the fedora files deletion by itself, and the fedora of course crashes afterwards?

2)Can you recommend any hosting control panels that are compatible for the Fedora?
