telnet
just now i installed telnet on my VPS.
but while connecting to other server it gives error
# telnet 10.10.10.224
Trying 10.10.10.224...
Connected to 10.10.10.224 (10.10.10.224).
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.
pls help

Spell out your words.
And there's not much we can tell you from what you posted. What version/distro of Linux? Have you checked the log files, and what do they say? Have you contacted your VPS provider, to ask them if they ALLOW telnet, since it's VERY unsafe and insecure??

Ok...CentOS WHAT??? 4? 5? And where is this hosted (at your location, or is it a 'virtual' server on the Internet?) And the other questions were: - Have you checked the log files, and what do they say?

@charanjaitu: Is the use of telnet integral to your training? Unless the answer is a definitive "yes", use ssh instead. With some (unfortunate) exceptions, there's no reason to be using telnet in this day and age.
