Teles AG server running linux problem

Hi,
I've got a Teles AG server SIM UNIT running linux, so there were problems with an UPS an it was shutdowned, after that system doesn't boot with an partition error of some sort, it gives permission to login in a single user shell with root pwd. advising to run fsck (e2fsck) manually, i've browsed all the info concerning that and tried, but all the bash gives as an ansewr is command not found. What steps should i take. Thank you

The above is a too general description too give you any good advise on what (not) to do.

I can only assume that one or more of the file systems have been corrupted by the (uncontrolled?) shutdown. You are still able to log in, probably in single user mode. It might be, an assumption on my part, that your file system(s) are mounted read only.

- You mention [an ] error of some sort: In general Linux throws descriptive errors, which might span multiple lines.
What is the exact error that is shown in your case?
Is there any mention of the file system(s) being read only?

- You also mention trying some commands: Which commands?

- Which Linux distribution is being used?

Hi, yes you are right, there was a power loss, and system boots only in single user mode, all the partitions are in read-only mode, the error written is /dev/hdc1/ unexpected inconsistency run fsck manually, above was a line saying inode 18974 and that's all, but in single user mode no commands work at all, command not found replied by bash.

Am I correct in assuming you have support for this SIM UNIT?

If so I would advise you to contact them first. Seems the safest option to start with.
