I am new to syslog envirement.We have a Syslog server and all syslog clients writes logs on syslog server.

I need to check whether my all syslog clients are reflecting in syslog server or not for Compliance purpose.

My syslog server configration is as below

Templates

$template TmplAuth, "/abc/var/log/secure"

$template TmplMsg, "/abc/var/log/messages"

$template TmplCrn, "/abc/var/log/cron"


authpriv.* ?TmplAuth

*.info,mail.none,authpriv.none,cron.none ?TmplMsg

cron.* ?TmplCrn

My syslog client configration is

*.err;*.emerg;*.crit;authpriv.* @syslog server ip>

local3.info @ual server ip>

what command will i run on syslog client which writes a log in /abc/var/log/messages of syslog server.

I am writing below command in syslog client

#logger ABC

It write a log in /var/log/messages files on syslog client but doesnt write in on /abc/var/log/messages of syslog server.

P.S: IF i run below command on syslog client,it is reflecting in /abc/var/log/secure of syslog server

logger -p authpriv.info ABC

I want a command that i will run on syslog client which will be written on syslog server in /abc/var/log/messages.
