support software selection mta + pop3 or imap + webmail

Hi guys Ihave to setup a new server in a company where the use of email is heavy and considered important.

I don't have questions, i'm asking to cooperate with me for the software selection

these are restrictions

for mail (mta+pop|imap)
-----------------------
users/passwd... etc should be in mysql db no need to create system users per mail/pop users
ok for running processes
mta easy scriptable

actually I'm using exim +dovecot not so satisfied
need to be pointed to servers and howto specific to the argument
-I will finalize sw selection,
and publish here results

I'guarantee I will give back to the community techical details and new howtos once completedthe project

tia for any suggestion.
