suggestions???--online test system on linux

hi,everyone, recently i want to build up a online test system on linux, any suggestion?

EricTRA 06-04-2012 01:23 AM

Hi,

You'll need to be a bit more specific in your question description. What kind of test system do you want to build? What will be its goal and usage? The more verbose your description, the more precise the answers will be.

Kind regards,

Eric

well,it's a online webpage test platform for the high school's students to do tests, better on Centos!!!

CentOS is great for this.

Use all security tips you can find and keep your system up-to-date at all times.

Hi,

I guess we expect more information from you in order to provide you with a dedicated answer. At this moment I, for example, still am guessing what kind of 'online test' system you are talking about. Are you referring to it for taking exams online, testing code through a website, continuous integration testing systems, ....

As I already told you before, the more verbose your question description, the more dedicated and complete answers you'll get.

Kind regards,

Eric

well, man,it's just a website, over this website, the students do tests and submit, then the teacher could know the level of the students,in fact, feed the students' online test is almost all,my aim is just to achieve the need, maybe say like is still not clear to you,but i have no better idea to tell more clear.

Do the test involve writing html or so? Or are the test just something else?

In other words: What does the website have to do? (in terms of input, processing, archiving, output to student, output to you)

Hi,

You're still not very clear on what kind of tests you want to run. But maybe I've found something for you, albeit not exactly what you're looking for. Instead of webbased it's a client/server setup. Have a look at this page for iTest. Pretty similar to the Windows application VirtualExam. On my quest to try to provide you an answer I also came across Hot Potatoes which state:
Quote:

The Hot Potatoes suite includes six applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web. Hot Potatoes is freeware, and you may use it for any purpose or project you like. It is not open-source.
You'll need Wine or CrossOver to use it apparently.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Eric
