Suddenly My hosting Sites Not loading!!!


Hi all,

Thanks in Advance,

I configured Advance Policy Firewall (APF) , 1 week before i configured this firewall, that time it was works great that time my hosting sites in that server also works great, but suddenly my sites not loading, after stopping firewall its works. don't know what happening in the server even i checked all the log, but i didn't get any fruit, need your guidance to identify what was the exact issue..!! Guide me guys.

What does work? Just Apache? Just remove that firewall rule..

Hi,

Even the httpd is running but still my websites are not loading..and when i stop my apf my all my websites are working, but not able to root cause of this issue, even i checked the logs.

Not sure what you think we can tell you, especially since you've already diagnosed the problem, and found the cause. You already said that everything works, if you disable the firewall. Very obviously, you've either changed a firewall rule, or put something new in place that causes the firewall to block everything.

Since you say nothing about the firewall, and (wisely), don't show us the firewall rules, it's up to you. Again, your firewall is blocking the web ports, so check the obvious ones at port 80, 8080, 443, etc.

It is an iptables based firewall. This is why it is important to understand how iptables works instead of relying on a GUI based tool. I would recommend reading one or more of the excellent iptables tutorials (search the security forum for multiple suggestions). You can also post the output of your iptables rules if you need help identifying what went wrong. To me it sounds like you THOUGHT you activated the firewall and all was working and after a some form of reset or update, your firewall actually got applied and now your access is being blocked.
