Streaming Media Server App

Hi, a while ago i was browsing, and i came accross an app which would let me stream my music collection over LAN or internet. This app also had a web interface where i could browse my collection and build playlists, i could even listen to music within the web browser. However.....i cannot remember what this app was called. would anyone here be able to shed any light on this? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I guess you mean kplaylist. You can also take a look at ampache

thanks alot. it was kPlaylist i found before, but ampache looks good also. do you have any suggestions to which is best?

I haven't used ampache, so I cannot tell you anything about it. In fact I just saw it today on freshmeat.
As for kplaylist I think that it's an easy to configure and use script and it has a nice interace also. It's up to you to decide what to use.

thanks for all your help. i have just tried out the demos of both apps. i prefer the interface of ampache, as it is very easy to navigate. shows album art also, which seems pretty cool.
