Store users on server

We are experimenting with Linux at my school right now and we have 5 Linux computers at the moment and we would like to store the users on a server. We want to create users for everyone that you can use to log in from any Linux computer and access your home-folder. How do I do this?

1. OpenLDAP
2. NIS

I know only these two options. Google it out...

Have a look at http://www.ltsp.org/ & http://www.k12ltsp.org/contents.html.
AFAIK, 'clients' can be thick or thin.
