Start Tomcat before Apache on boot

Hi guys,

I am using Centos and my apache is installed via rpm. It is enabled to start on boot via chkconfig. But how should I start Tomcat and ensure it starts before Apache?

Thanks!

Well, I have no idea how to do that, first off. My question is why would you care? Tomcat defaults to a separate port, right? Or you could just shut off apache with a tomcat startup script.

I need both to startup because I am running them together using mod_jk, so I need Tomcat to start before Apache so as to allow autoconfig to run properly.

Just another update: managed to fix the startup issues

I followed the guide at http://www.sitepoint.com/article/jsp...-guide-linux/3 and tailored it to my needs.

It works beautifully
