thanks for the link, Rodrifra, I did set the X11Forwarding to yes on my sshd_config in Mac, but maybe I needed to reboot the system to make it effective.... I'll give it a try tonight

You don't need to reboot. Just restart the service (in Linux Ubuntu service ssh restart or /etc/init.d/ssh restart in other distros like Debian), Mac should have something similar or just kill the sshd process and start sshd again.

it worked! basically I couldn't Xforward from MAC because X11Forwarding wasn't set... maybe when I did it I didn't restart sshd_config.
Now everything works, in both directions: either I can 'remote control' one computer from the other via ssh session (by setting the proper DISPLAY settings) and I can access via ssh -X programs from remote machine to the one I use.

I'm quite happy....
