SquidGuard... any good howtos/alternatives?

I've been using squidguard for a while now. But i've been experiencing some administrative problems. I couldn't get hold of a good howto/documentation to help me with what i want to do. It could be great if there is someone who can help me out with this.

Problems:
1. Does SquidGuard v1.2 support Active directory groups? i want to give specific access to certain AD groups. I could not find any support where it could help me out with this.

2. Currently when i want to give access to users, it is IP based. Everytime i add an IP, i would need to restart te squid service or run "squid -k reconfigure". This would take several minutes (atleast 15-20 mins) before the internet access is actually available. During this interval no internet access would be possible for any user. (Note - I am using a blacklist available from http://urlblacklist.com/ )

Can anyone help me out with resolving this problem?
I can even consider switching any other (free/open source) good filtering solution available that works with Squid. (i had tried Dansguardian already) Else please direct me to some good documetation on squidguard.

Thanks.
