squid question
Hi!
We have a cisco ASA firewall at work, which redirects all http traffic to our webserver. We have to install a new website ,but it can't be installed to the same server.
Setting up a squid reverse proxy can redirect the incoming http requests to the appropriate webserver?
If yes, could I get some directions on howto?
Thank you for the answers.

So you have a firewall and a web server in which you cannot add this new website to? Are you planning to implement another web server? Or another squid server?

We have to implement a new webserver for this website, and maybe a squid(which we dont have right now) to redirect the http traffic to the appropriate servers. Because now,the firewall does it, which works fine with one webserver, but with another one, I dont think it can decide which traffic to forward to server A, and which to server B.
Sorry, if I was unclear the first time.

Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,
Have a look at this whitepaper at Visolve. The only thing you'll need to do in your firewall is redirect all traffic to the Squid server. You can configure Squid to redirect to different servers, based on domain name. Be aware that if you want to serve HTTPS also you'll need to compile Squid rather than install using the package manager (if this hasn't changed, last version of Squid I used was 3).
Kind regards,
Eric
