Hello,
OK, I'm at my wits end, google, forums, docs... nothing! I'm not even sure what the proper term for this is.
I have a working Squid server on a remote box, using default port 3128. If I setup my browser to use the proxy server and port it works 100%
Now, how can I test/use the squid proxy without setting up the proxy settings in the web browser or implementing a transparent/intercept proxy by doing the following:
From the browser entering the URL:
http://www.mysquidbox.com:3128/?url=...m/document.txt
What is the URL syntax to do this? The method above gives me this error:
Code:
ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved
Invalid Request error was encountered while trying to process the request:
GET /?url=http://www.someserver.com/document.com HTTP/1.1
Host: www.mysquidbox.com:3128
Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/535.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/14.0.835.163 Safari/535.1
Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8
Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate,sdch
Accept-Language: en-US,en;q=0.8
Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3
There must be a way to do this? I know I can't just grab a complete page using this method since I would have to url_rewrite every get statement through the proxy, but I can't even get one item?
What would the be called? And how can I do this? Where is this documented?
