Squid how to setup without configuration in any browser


Hello


I have squid proxy and running good till now

my problem before is cant setup automatic without configuring in any browser.

what i mean is i have to config internet browser or Firefox
manually input the proxy server and port, so that they can have internet

is there a way that no need to go to client and setup manually proxy server ip and port

You can use WPAD for this.

BTW, I'm moving this to Server as it's not a security question.

Configure squid as transparent proxy may be useful for your requirement but it has some limitations(disadvantages). please refer the following

Its OK.. SOweee...

Actually WPAD i used that before the only problem that i encountered is that once i add the code to my DHCP.conf
my dhcp will not run becuase the code that i used is not recognize hmmm but i just followed the articles.

/etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf line 12: unknown option dhcp.custom-proxy-server
option custom-proxy-server "http://192.168.50.101/wpad.dat"
^
Configuration file errors encountered -- exiting



any idea.
