snort WITHOUT apache/mysql

I am setting up a new external firewall/nat host. I had snort on the old one from a few years ago, but now it seams that apache and mysql are required.

I don't want apache or mysql on this box. If it ain't there it can't be exploited.

What other options do I have?

If your distribution isn't offering different versions of Snort then you can compile it yourself.
