SMS Alerts using Zabbix..Is it possible? How to?

Hello all,

I have an installation of Zabbix version 2.0.1 running on Cent OS 6 64 bit.
Zabbix has been configured it and I get all the email alerts from the system and all.
Now I want to use GSM FCT terminal to also send SMS alerts using Zabbix. I have connected THIS PRODUCT to the system running zabbix using Serial port. The product supports the standard AT commands.
I need to know how can I send SMS alerts using Zabbix? Where do I configure the mobile numbers where the alerts should be sent. And how do I configure the actions? I can only see "Send Message" in action. I cannot see any option to configure and tell zabbix to send an SMS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: If the forum is not correct, please move the thread accordingly.

You would be better using something like Gnokii or SMS Server Tools - http://smstools3.kekekasvi.com/index.php?p= to deal with communicating with the modem. With SMS Server Tools it's a matter of creating a text file in a folder and the daemon will pick it up and send it out.

Well, I have configured the device and it is able to send SMS messages using AT commands from mincom on Cent OS and hyper terminal on Windows.
In addition, I have made sure that the SIM card has PIN disabled and serial port baud rate matches that of device. These are the default settings. But Zabbix is unable to send SMS messages for the alerts.

PS: I have configured Zabbix to send SMS to users using Actions menu item.

Any idea where should I be looking at? Any error or logs that zabbix generates for this stuff?

I see this weird error in the Audit logs of Zabbix. The problem here I see is that, there is no error code.

Quote:
Expected [+CMGS: ] received [+CME ERROR: invalid input value]
I have tried to find this error from the CME error list, but I dont find anything that matches this. And as there is no error code, it is difficult to understand what is trying to say. Anyone can help in deciphering the error?
