SMB Error on 10.6.5 Server

Hey guys,
I know this is a linux forum but being that OS X is based on UNIX and close to the hearts of many linux admins, I was hoping that I can find some help here. I have been getting these error messages from the SMB Name Server logfile, and wanted to know how I can get rid of them. It seems like two ip addresses (which are now dead) are still in the SMB Config file's gutter. Would like to clear that up. Here are the log messages:

2011/01/18 19:55:50, 0, pid=55 /SourceCache/samba/samba-235.5/samba/source/nmbd/nmbd_browsesync.c:get_domain_master_name_node_status_fail(486)

Both 192.168.241.1 and 192.168.46.1 are dead. As for 192.168.2.2, can I just ignore that or should I do something about it? Thanks so much!

I agree with your assessment of left overs in the gutter. It looks to me like you are using Samba with LDAP and it still has some stale configuration information that hasn't been updated.

One thing I can thin of is to stop Samba and then delete the .tdb files and then rejoin the domain to refresh them. Be sure you back up anything you delete and you might consider simply moving them to another location to effectively accomplish both.

One other thing that searching for the error messages found is that wins.dat can still store old resolution information. Stop samba, delete the file /var/lib/samab/wins.dat and then restart it. Here is a link to that reference.
