Cool Single wildcard certificate for apache httpd server and tomcat

Hello Every one.

I have a requirement of using a wildcard certificate for 5 subdomains running under apache httpd server and 1 subdomain under tomcat.

Is there any possibility of using the single wildcard certificate both in tomcat and apache.

Thanks & regards,
UdayKiran

So long as the wildcard matches the sites appropriately I don't see why it would be an issue.

Sir, actually i have generated a csr using openssl for apache httpd server and got it signed. After this i received a .crt and a .ca file.

I also wanted to make use of this certificate in the tomcat server. I know we can import ca and crt certificates using keytool. But donot know how to import the key file of apache httpd server.

Thanks,
UdayKiran.

With apache you don't actually import it you just point your configs to the appropriate files and add the directives to the config.

Code:
# Setup mime types and load the ssl module
AddType application/x-x509-ca-cert .crt
AddType application/x-pkcs7-crl    .crl
LoadModule ssl_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_ssl.so

# Setup the actual site
<VirtualHost IP:443>
SSLEngine on
SSLCertificateFile /etc/ssl/certs/domain.tld.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/ssl/certs/domain.tld.key
SSLCertificateChainFile /etc/ssl/certs/godaddy_intermediate_bundle.crt
</VirtualHost>
You'll need to put whatever else you require for your sites in the virtualhost too.
