simple wordpress administration question
Hi there
I have a web server with LAMP and wordpress on it. I'm going to administer wordpress from a different host on the same LAN as the server(the server doesn't have X and desktop software on it). When you build a site, with wordpress, from a separate admin host what exactly is happening?. Do browser requests from the admin host go to the web server, then out to the Internet, then back to the web server, then the results get displayed back to the browser on the admin host?. Or does it work differently?. Will such a set up work automatically after the installation and basic configuration of LAMP and wordpress on the web server?.
Thank you very much for your time and any replies that i might get.
regards methodtwo

If you connect within your network ( http://[local ip address]/wp-admin), requests go directly to the server within your local network.
If you have a DNS service and connect via the internet domain name ( http://somewhere-or-other-out-there.info or whatever), they go out to the Big Wide World and then come back courtesy of the DNS.

I just need to build the site, hosted on my web server, from another host on my LAN. So i would like to know how it would work in this case, in case of mishaps.
Thank you for your reply

I'm very very sorry what i meant was: If you're building the site from another host on your LAN(because the web server doesn't have X installed) then the browser commands go to the web server, then out to the Internet, then the data comes back to the web server, then the results are displayed on the admin host(that you were driving the browser from) right?. I just would like to know how it works in this case. You'll have to excuse me i'm somewhat of a n00b and i would like to know what happens in case anything need to be fixed or there's extra configuration required in order to set this up. Thank you very much for your replies.
