share usb device to windows


pls advise if there is any opensource software (server, client) so that linux could share usb devices to windows client.

May be possible by mounting the usb device to the directory of windows client can access.

What type of usb devices are you talking about? You could always allow a remote host direct access to the /dev/whatever...

You didn't answer what sort of usb device, but in post #4 you talk about mounting so I can guess that you are talking about a storage device. In that case just mount it on linux and then export the mount point using samba.

i would like the usb device to appear in windows as usb device so it could be usb disk, usb printer, usb scanner, etc.
