setup dhcp with ip resume support

Is it possible to setup dhcp server in such a way that even if a client disconnects for a short period of time (5 - 10 minutes) the dhcp server keeps that address for that specific client and lease it back. Tracking can be done using the mac address of the client.

This is standard procedure for DHCP - The client will 'remember' the previously assigned IP - and request that same IP from the DHCP server when it reconnects. Another setting you may need to adjust is the DHCP lease duration. Depending upon the number of nodes on your network, and the address space available, you can set the lease duration to a number of days (expressed in hours).

Thanks for the reply. We have a large IP address space but since there are lots of clients who are connecting / disconnecting all the time we have noticed that for most of the clients they cannot get the previously assigned IP address. So we are looking for a specific server side config to achieve this.
