Question Setting up RDP

I'm trying to set up xrdp on my xubuntu server.

So I downloaded xrdp from their site on sourceforge, and installed it.

I started the rdp server, but when I try to connect to the rdp server with the Windows XP client, I get some problems.

I enter my username and password, and then it says "Connected" but stalls. And then the client crashes.

How can I fix this problem? Or how do I set up xrdp properly?

I would suggest vncserver and a vnc client for windows personally, but that's just me. I've never gotten xrdp working well.

I have set up a vncserver, but I want to set up a rdp server as well, just to learn how to do it.

Anybody got some tips on how to set up xRDP server properly?

you might want to edit startwm.sh in /usr/local/xrdp/. as i believe xubuntu does not come with kde and the default is kde. so edit it to start xfce. i changed mine to start fluxbox.
