Unhappy Server should shutdown when network connectivity goes down.

Hi All..

Our client has poor UPS. The problem they are facing when electricity goes of the UPS will automatically trigger up. In b/w the server are consuming more power but the ups is unable to give that much power. Debian lenny is running on those servers. When it triggers the switch which is connected to server will be restarted, at that time the server should be halted. I added halt script on if-down.d (#!/bin/bash (next line) halt) but its not working pls give me some suggestion. Waiting...Waiting...Thanks in advance...

Regards
Rhizopod..

Well that's a real problem. Buy more UPS's, or get more power.

Good.

From your subject string I understand this is the main point, but don't see what adding a hook to if-down is going to for your power issues. When a node goes down, it doesn't make any decisions. It just simply stops. In clustered/HA scenarios, other nodes might make decisions for it; but that's not what you're talking about. You need to fix your power issues or you're just fucked.
