server performance


hi

i have centos installed on server , the server configuration are Quadcore AMD opteron(TM)processor 1354 64bit, 2 gb ram
this server is currently handling subversion system and some open source system work on lamp , having 25 users working on this server, but shortly this users will be increaed upto 120 users can my this server handle this load or i this processor is sufficent or need to to upgrade how can i check his performance , i search on google but cant find proper solution,

For your initial follow-up just check the "top" output for memory and cpu usage

I think you should be fine as long as you have sufficient disk space. For any version control system the amount of space needed by the source is the biggest limiting factor. Most of the work will be in small bursts as users check things in/out of the repository anyway, not continual load. In my experience most developers will tend to do at most a few transactions from a source control system in a day.

But as mentioned a good gauge would be look at the output from things such as top, free, and df to see where you stand and upgrade if necessary. If anything I would venture to guess that if you have sufficient disk space the next most likely upgrade needed would be RAM.
