Sendmail with roaming clients (non-open relay)

Hi all,

I'm currently building a mail solution.
The server is sendmail.
I configured the daemon and all is working well.
However the mail client gets an relaying denied error.
From what I see this is because the client is not in the domain (so the IP doesn't resolve to a name in the domain and this is not allowed to prevent an open relay and spamming the internet).
I tried with the access file however this does seem to fail because I can't predict what IP he's coming from.

What are the ways to allow this client to send mail with my smtp?
Do I have to use SASL or are there other ways of doing this?

Thanks in advance!

I host a small email server, and most of the clients that roam stay within a certain geographic area. The method I use is simply to put the roaming clients ip and hostname in the /etc/host file. Watching the logs, I have most of the remote IP's that they use inputted and the errors have stopped. But you have to watch your logs - which I do anyways as a 'best practice' habit.

This also is a great way to take care of ip's where the reverse lookup does not match.
