Sendmail - quietly drop mail to unknown users

I would like to configure sendmail to silently drop all mail sent to non-existant users on my system. Currently, the postmaster gets every mail rejection message which looks something like this:

<<< 550-Mailbox unknown. Either there is no mailbox associated with this
<<< 550-name or you do not have authorization to see it.
<<< 550 5.1.1 User unknown
550 5.1.1 <>... User unknown
<<< 503 5.5.1 No recipients
I want to use the "discard" internal delivery method to simply drop any mail sent to unknown users. I've searched the web, but can not find what I am looking for.

Any ideas??? pointers:::

The "bounce" is a pretty important feature for legitimate misdirected mail. I would lean more toward a procmail filter to /dev/null the messages if it's just because they are irritating because the bounce also goes to the sender.

Actually, these messages are about 99.44% SPAM and the replies just get hung in the mail queue until they either get timed out (in which case I end up with a cannot-deliver message) or I manually delete them from the /var/spool/mqueue directory. In either case, a pain in the whatever...
