sendmail problem in short domain name


Dear all,
I just configured sendmail on RHEL-5 Box.

While sending mail to other users i need to use

user@server.example.com but i need to send mail using

user@example.com

in /etc/mail/local-host-names i added

example.com
server.example.com


but still not working

This is my sendmail -d0 output

[root@server mail]# sendmail -d0
Version 8.13.8
Compiled with: DNSMAP HESIOD HES_GETMAILHOST LDAPMAP LOG MAP_REGEX

Recipient names must be specified
[root@server mail]#
