Sendmail Open Relay

Hi, just a quick question. I'm running a sendmail server on an internal network and I need it to be able to relay mail to all hosts. I know what an open relay is and I know the dangers of having an open relay server on the Internet. This is on a CLOSED network with only a few machines on it.

What do I need to do to Sendmail so that it doesn't check the relay domains and just sends the email wherever requested?

Thank you.

if it's in a closed network then by definition it's not an open relay at all. an open relay is when a remote machine sends mail to another rmeote machine via yours. as your clients are local, that's totally normal. sounds like you just want a totally standard local smtp server to me... all you should need to do is add your local subnets to your access file, and rebuild the access database. then any local ip address can send mail to anywhere. useful example here... http://www.akadia.com/services/sendmail_relay.html

Hmm, I'm not sure if I was being completely clear, but basically I have the smtp server sitting on my LAN behind a firewall blocking incoming connections. I need my smtp server to handle all the mail delivery for my LAN machines. I can add domains to the relay domain list, but I would have to add a domain for every host I want to send an email for. Is there any simple way just to disable the relay domain feature so it forwards it no matter what?

The LAN is still connected to the Internet, there's just a firewall so that no incoming traffic can contact the smtp server. I need the LAN machines to be able to email remote machines as well (but I don't need incoming mail).

Okay, I've got it figured out with the access file. Thank you.
