sendmail - new setup; sends email out, but will not receive incoming email

I just set up Sendmail on my Ubuntu LINUX (v.10) workstation/server and I can successfully "send out" email to my gmail account, but replying yields no returned email.

Any ideas what's up?
Did I forget something?

Sendmail must be configured for receiving.

Here is an old LQ post on the subject - might give you some ideas.
