Sendmail localuser and virtual users

Hi everyone,

was wondering, do I have to create a local user in my server for every email I want to have running sendmail? (several domains) or can I create virtual users without having to create an account on the actual server?

I know that virtualusertable can have:

joe@yourdomain.com jschmoe (where jschmoe is a local user)

Thanks

As long as you have at least one account on the box (e.g. jschmoe in your post), you can have multiple virtual addresses use it for delivery. You just need a way to identify the different recipient addresses.

I don't know of a way to do this without any local accounts since the mail has to be delivered somewhere.
