Sendmail Issues - Sending
Hello all,
I have a sendmail box here. It has been working fine for the longest time but its been acting up recently.
This server is currently getting hit hard with spam.
If I check the smtp connection, I see about 30-40 connections. The problem is that when I view the mailq, it only shows 2 messages which have timed out. Nothing is being processed to the queue and the connections are all being hogged down doing nothing. If I look in the mqueue folder, I only see the 2 messages. They have been there for 1/2 hr.
I tried to telnet to both of the above servers and it indeed times out failing. Both messages are spam so I don't really care much about it.
I can telnet to hotmail servers so theres no firewalls or connectivity issues.
Currently the system is down b/c it reached the max amount of connections (40). Out of curiousity, does anyone know how to increase this value?
Any idea on how I can get this system back up and running? Any idea on why the other connections are not being sent to the mail queue? Would those 2 messages cause a problem, if so can I configure the system to skip them and process the rest?
Thanks
