sendmail delivering cron email, but nothing else
Hi all,
On my CentOS 5.5 box Sendmail appears to only be delivering mail from the cron jobs and not any sent from anyone else, even a local user, despite the SMTP transaction going through seemingly fine.
For example:
Code:
[flyte@dade ~]$ /usr/sbin/sendmail -v flyte
Hello
.
flyte... Connecting to [127.0.0.1] via relay...
220 dade.mydomain.co.uk ESMTP Sendmail 8.13.8/8.13.8; Sat, 6 Nov 2010 13:25:11 GMT

Closing connection to [127.0.0.1]
>>> QUIT

/var/log/maillog then reports this:

Did you do this ?
Quote:

As it says, if you amend the orig cfg (ie sendmail.mc, and you did), then you have to regenerate the sendmail.cf as per instruction supplied.

I hadn't done that as I was using Webmin to do the configuring, but when I do, it tells me there's nothing to do for `all'.

I have now just installed postfix instead which works fine.
I'd love to know what the problem was, but I've had enough of it now!
Cheers
Edit:
I have just found out that the problem was with procmail, and not with sendmail at all! I set up postfix to route through procmail and that started doing the same thing. Facepalm.
