Sendmail Configuration to notify spikes in mail volume.

Hi All,

I have a CENTOS 6 server hosting web and email. the volume of mail is fairly consistent. I'd like to set up sendmail to notify me when the load goes above a certain level.

I'm not even sure if it's possible, and if it is, it's certainly beyond my current level of knowledge in configuring sendmail.

ANy help would be greatly appreciated

everything is possible, you just have to think in right direction.

you said you are hosting web and email, that means mail is already setup and configured.

now to get the load of mails: something like "qshape" is what you need to use.

I have a postfix setup but think qshape should also works with sendmail.

check man qshape.
