Sendmail as a secondary MX server

My main sendmail is working fine with domain Now I have to configure it just for queuing email for an other domain '' as secondary MTA (with higher priority MX record).

Since primary sendmail for domain not always remain connected/online.

Here is the DNS entry for IN MX 10 IN MX 20

When both sendmail are online then there is no issue. Both domains get their emails from hotmail/yahoo. But when server goes down then server doesn't queue mail for

When I checked log at server (secondary for mysite2domain) then Error was 'Relaying denied' and email bounced back to client. I edited local-host-names file with entry & then error 'unknown user' shown in log file.

Please help me how to configure my main sendmail server?

you should be able to solve the problem by adding the following line to the /etc/mail/access file of the mail server.

Quote: RELAY
then rebuild the access database by using

makemap hash /etc/mail/access.db < /etc/mail/access
