Sendmail access_db relays by domain only

Greetings,

Have a sendmail question relating to the access database.
I'm running a couple of servers as gateways, one Fedora, one CentOS.
Both boxes are running sendmail 8.14. I have the servers configured
using access_db and mailertables. Both work fine...at the domain level.
With the increase of spam, I'm trying to filter out non-existent users
to ease the load on the spam servers. I've seen plenty docs relating
to the different access file formats/entries. The one I really want to enable is 'To:bob@example.com RELAY or OK'. Any entry like this is just ignored, and relaying is denied. Relaying Works fine if 'example.com RELAY' is entered. Anyone had any experience with this?

Thanx,

~Ron

The short answer is this doesn't work, period. I had to add my own programming
to sendmail to accomplish the task. If anyone else is running a gateway server,
and runs into the same problem, feel free to drop me line, and I will be happy
to share. 'dark at telux.org'

You may want to try "skip" or "discard" in your "access" file.
